Understanding ISO

100- f/3.5 & SS 4

200- f/3.5 & SS 1/5

400- f/3.5 & SS 1/8

800- f/3.5 & SS 1/20

1600- f/3.5 & SS 1/40

3200- f/3.5 & SS 1/80

WHAT IS ISO? ISO IS THE SENSITIVITY TO LIGHT OF THE CAMERA.
HOW DOES ISO WORK? TECHNICALLY, LOWERING ISO MAKES IT LESS SENSITIVE TO LIGHT AND RAISING IT MAKES THE CAMERA MORE SENSITIVE TO LIGHT. VISUALLY, THE HIGHER THE ISO THE MORE GRAINIER THE PHOTO, BUT IT WORKS BETTER FOR LOW LIGHTING AREAS.
EXPOSURE TRIANGLE? AS ISO INCREASES, THE SHUTTER SPEED BECOMES FASTER. AS ISO DECREASES, SHUTTER SPEED BECOMES SLOWER.

Understanding Shutter Speeds

What is Shutter Speed? THE AMOUNT OF TIME THE SHUTTER IS OPEN.
How does shutter speed work? TECHNICALLY THE SHUTTER SPEED WILL GO FASTER OR SLOWER. VISUALLY A SLOW SHUTTER SPEED MAKES THE PHOTO BLURRY, AND A FAST SHUTTER SPEED MAKES THE PHOTO IN FOCUS.
Exposure Triangle Relation? WHEN SHUTTER SPEED GETS FASTER, APERTURE INCREASES ALSO. WHEN IT GETS SLOWER, APERTURE ALSO DECREASES.

Slow Shutter Speed
Aperture: f/3.5
Shutter Speed: 1/60
ISO: 1600

 Fast Shutter Speed
Aperture: f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/500
ISO: 1600

Understanding Aperture

Small Depth of Field
Aperture f/5.6
Shutter Speed 1/80
ISO 100

    Large Depth of Field
Aperture f/5.0
Shutter Speen 1/25
ISO 800

What is aperture? Aperture is the amount of light that can get in to a photo.
How does aperture work? It either opens or closes to increase or decrease the amount of light that can get in. If there is a high aperture, less light can get in, and the photo becomes darker. If there is a low aperture, more light can get in, and that makes the photo lighter.
Relationship of exposure triangle? If aperture increases then shutter speed decreases. If aperture decreases then shutter speed increases. Or vice versa.

Photographic Themes

i. My Thoughts: I liked this assignment because we could put our own interpretations on each theme. I didn't like some of the themes like wisdom and courage because I don't know how to show that in a photo.

ii. End Result: I think that the end result of this project turned out better than I thought. The fact that there are so many photos draws away from the bad ones, and draws the eye to some of the better ones that have more (or different) colors.

iii. My Favorites: My favorite photo is probably the growth. I think if I had more time, I could have made it better, but I like the idea of it. I also like the mysterious because it actually has to do with the theme and it's kinda obvious.
